I am concerned about my savings plan options being simplified. I don’t believe that I am given too many investment options, or that it is difficult to understand the differences across the choices.
As an end-user with a diversified portfolio, I stand to lose a substantial amount of my contributions by being forced out of my currently elected funds at the end of August of 2010. This does not agree with the fundamental strategies of most financial advisors to keep my costs as low as possible.
One of the key items BP has identified is, “remember you’re investing for the long term. Don’t make frequent changes to our investment strategy in reaction to short-term changes in the stock market.” I have made my choices for long term investing, and it seems that BP is making changes to my investment strategy in reaction to short-term changes in the stock market.
As a member of the USW 13-1, I represent one of the many that are demanding that these investment options remain available.
