NOBP GENERAL MESSAGE #6

Greetings:

At approximately 11:00pm tonight the industry came to the table and officially rejected our last proposal.  As some of you must be aware of by now, we have instituted strike action at the following locations.

LyondellBasell, Houston, TX

Marathon Galveston Bay, Texas City

Marathon Houston Green Co-Gen, Texas City

Marathon, Catlettsburg, KY

Tesoro Anacortes, WA

Tesoro, Martinez, CA

Tesoro, Carson, CA

Shell, Deer Park, TX

Shell Chemical, Deer Park, TX

All other locations are in the process of offering 24 hour rolling extensions, as we have done in the past.

This industry has played games at the bargaining table for the past two weeks.  They have refused to adequately address the issues on contracting out, skill development, repairing the fatigue policy and health care benefits.

Today was the final insult when during a caucus they informed us that they were considering discontinuing the 80/20 premium split on health care.

We have advised this industry that we are ready and willing to bargaining and they declined and left the room.  We continue to be available if this industry wants to come to the table and have meaningful discussions on the issues.

Stay strong!

Gary
